New research recommends an optimal daily routine of at least four hours of physical activity (including light, moderate, or vigorous exercise) and a minimum of eight hours of sleep for optimal health. The study, led by Swinburne University of Technology, analyzed the behavior of over 2,000 people in a 24-hour period to determine the ideal mix of sitting, sleeping, standing, and being physically active for desirable health outcomes.
