Remains of WWII POW David C. Hansen identified 82 years after his death in Japanese camp.
The remains of U.S. Army Air Force Pvt.
1st Class David C. Hansen, a 25-year-old Wisconsin airman who died as a POW during World War II, have been identified 82 years after his death.
Captured during the Japanese invasion of the Philippines in 1941, Hansen was subjected to the Bataan Death March and died in 1942 at the Cabanatuan POW Camp.
His remains were identified through dental, anthropological, and DNA analysis by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
Hansen will be buried in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
