Remains of Korean War soldier Pfc. James C. Bowman, missing since 1950, identified and to be buried in West Virginia.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency has identified the remains of Pfc. James C. Bowman, a 20-year-old Korean War soldier from Marion County, West Virginia, who went missing in action in 1950. His remains were initially recovered in 1954 but could not be identified until recently through DNA and other analyses. Bowman, who was killed during an attack by Chinese forces, will now be laid to rest in Fairmont, WV.
