82-year-old WWII US Air Force POW remains of Charles R. Powers returned to California for burial.
82-year-old remains of WWII US Air Force Pvt 1st Class Charles R. Powers, who died in a Japanese POW camp in the Philippines in 1942, have been returned to California for burial at Riverside National Cemetery.
Powers was a member of the 28th Materiel Squadron, 20th Air Base Group and was captured during the Bataan surrender.
His remains were accounted for in June after DNA analysis.
