Australia's Sushi Bay group companies were fined a record $13.7m for underpaying migrant workers, denying them entitlements like penalty rates and annual leave payments. Company boss Yi Jeong "Rebecca" Shin was ordered to pay $1.6m, which will be distributed to the affected workers. The underpayments, including minimum award rates, casual loadings, and weekend and public holiday penalty rates, affected mostly temporary visa holders and those under 25.
