A Southland dairy farm and its owner, an imam, have been fined $215,000 for exploiting three Indonesian migrant workers. The company Rural Practice, owned by Reza Abdul-Jabbar, was found to have breached minimum employment standards, including not paying minimum wage or holidays, manipulating payslips, and unlawful wage deductions. Two of the three workers will each receive $10,000 from the penalties.
