Former Hua Restaurant owner, Shen Yuan, ordered to pay $95k in employment dispute with a vulnerable former chef.

The former owner of Auckland's liquidated Hua Restaurant, Shen Yuan, has been ordered to pay $95k following an employment dispute with a vulnerable former chef. The Employment Relations Authority (ERA) identified multiple breaches of minimum employment standards by Yuan, who was also the sole director of BDIT Ltd. Yuan's wife, Linlin Sun, was also found liable, and must pay $10,000 in penalties.
