Woolworths admits to underpaying $1m to 1200 workers, faces max $10bn penalty.

Woolworths, an Australian supermarket chain, has admitted to underpaying more than $1 million to approximately 1200 workers, marking it as "an exemplary employer" and "a model accused" in court. The company pleaded guilty to over 1000 charges and is facing a maximum penalty of over $10 billion. The underpayments were discovered after Woolworths conducted a review of its payroll systems and found discrepancies in payments for long service leave entitlements after employees left the company.
