Jordan aims to renew its MoU with Iraq to import crude oil at a discounted price.

Jordan seeks to renew its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iraq to import crude oil, according to Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Kharabsheh. Between May 4 and July 30, Jordan imported approximately 5 million barrels of oil from Iraq, transported using Iraqi and Jordanian tankers. The agreement, signed in 2023, allows Jordan to purchase Kirkuk crude oil at a price based on the monthly average of Brent crude oil minus $16 per barrel.
