Study finds substituting TV time with light-intensity physical activity increases chances of healthy aging in older women.
New research from the JAMA Network Open reveals that spending less time watching TV and swapping it with light-intensity physical activity (LPA) can significantly improve chances of healthy aging in older women. The study, based on data from over 45,000 participants, found that increased time spent sitting, particularly watching TV, decreased the odds of healthy aging. Each additional two hours of daily TV watching was associated with a 12% reduction in maintaining good health in older age.
