Mid-age women adhering to physical activity guidelines linked to higher health-related quality of life.
New research from the Charles Perkins Centre and University of Sydney's School of Public Health found that consistent adherence to physical activity guidelines in mid-age is linked to a higher health-related quality of life in women. The study, published in PLOS Medicine, shows that for women, being active throughout mid-age is essential to gain the most benefits for physical health in later life. Ideally, women should increase their activity levels to meet guidelines by age 55.
