Mary Quinn faces charges over the drowning death of a five-year-old girl in Alberta's Wabamun Lake.

A 35-year-old Edmonton woman, Mary Quinn, has been charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life in connection with the drowning death of a five-year-old girl in Wabamun Lake, Alberta. Initially reported as a canoe accident, the RCMP later treated the incident as a criminal matter after finding the canoe did not capsize. Quinn, who is from the same community as the victim but is not related, is scheduled to appear in court on November 20.
