A 25-year-old mother in Windsor, Ontario, has been charged with criminal negligence causing death and failure to provide the necessaries of life following the drowning of her five-year-old daughter in their backyard pool on September 9. Despite emergency responders' attempts to resuscitate the child, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. The mother was arrested on September 19, and an investigation by the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit is ongoing.
