94.3% of Northern Ireland consultants voted to accept a 5.26% pay increase offer from the Department of Health, ending one of three ongoing pay disputes involving secondary care doctors. The deal, which will see doctors receive the UK's highest consultant pay salary, includes a revised consultant pay scale with uplifts at all pay points. It marks a positive first step towards full pay restoration in the region, according to Dr David Farren, chair of the BMA's Northern Ireland consultants committee.
