NOYB accuses EU Parliament of GDPR noncompliance after data breach exposing 8,000 staff's sensitive data.
Austrian privacy group NOYB, founded by Max Schrems, has filed two complaints with the EU privacy watchdog against the European Parliament, accusing it of failing to adequately safeguard employees' personal data following a data breach on the Parliament's recruiting platform. The breach exposed sensitive information of over 8,000 staff, including passports, criminal records, and marriage certificates. NOYB claims the Parliament is not complying with the GDPR and demands the European Data Protection Board enforce compliance, potentially including financial penalties.
