97-year-old Northern Ireland D-Day veteran George Horner recalls Sword Beach as a "slaughter house" during the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings. Horner, a member of G company of the Royal Ulster Rifles, landed on the beach on June 6, 1944, alongside thousands of US, British, and French troops. Horner's father also fought in the First World War, and he followed a strong family tradition of military service.
