1,475 metal silhouettes honoring D-Day casualties created by UK volunteers for Normandy's 80th anniversary.

1,475 metal silhouettes have been created by volunteers in the UK in honour of British military personnel who died during the D-Day landings in 1944, to mark the 80th anniversary. The "Standing with Giants" project, led by building renovation specialist Dan Barton, aims to commemorate the largest seaborne invasion in history. The silhouettes, representing each of the 1,475 casualties, will be placed near the memorial at Ver-sur-Mer in Normandy.
