1,475 D-Day servicemen and two women silhouettes installed at British Normandy Museum ahead of 80th anniversary.
1,475 servicemen and two women silhouettes, who died on D-Day, have been installed at the British Normandy Museum ahead of the 80th anniversary commemorations. The giant silhouettes, which represent personnel from all three services, were created by Dan Barton of the Standing with Giants charity and installed at the memorial overlooking Gold Beach, one of the key landing points. The installation will be open to the public throughout the summer.
