41-year-old Pankaj Narvekar, an assistant engineer in Goa's Public Works Department, has become the first Goan to summit Mount Everest at 8,848 meters. He achieved this feat on May 21, having successfully climbed other peaks since 2015, including Mt Kamet, Mt Kang Yatse-I and II, and Mt Kun. This accomplishment brings pride to Goa and serves as an inspiration for aspiring mountaineers.
