16-year-old Indian student Kaamya Karthikeyan, accompanied by her father, climbs Mount Everest from Nepal side, becoming the youngest Indian.

16-year-old Indian student Kaamya Karthikeyan has become the youngest Indian to climb Mount Everest from the Nepal side, accompanied by her father, a naval officer. Kaamya, a student at Navy Children School in Mumbai, completed the climb on 20 May, reaching a height of 8,849 meters. Her father, Cdr S Karthikeyan, also succeeded in the climb. Kaamya has now completed six milestones in her mission to summit the highest peak of all seven continents and aims to summit Mt. Vinson Massif in Antarctica this December to become the youngest girl to accomplish the seven summits challenge.
