An ageing pipeline linking two ExxonMobil oil platforms off Gippsland coast is under investigation for a suspected hydrocarbon spill in Bass Strait. The platforms, Kingfish A and West Kingfish, are located 70 km off the Victorian coast near the Ramsar-listed Gippsland Lakes. The companies involved are Esso Australia and Woodside Energy in a 50-50 joint venture.
