Canadian Coast Guard investigates motor oil spill in St. Lawrence River near Montreal.

The Canadian Coast Guard is still investigating the source of a motor oil spill in the St. Lawrence River near Montreal's east-end neighbourhood of Pointe-aux-Trembles, discovered last week. The spill, about 875 metres long, was later identified as used motor oil. The coast guard has been recovering the oil, decontaminating seagrass beds and shoreline, and an operation is underway to clean up boats at a marina.
