MOL and Chevron Shipping to install Wind Challenger system on a new LNG carrier in 2026, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Chevron Shipping are set to implement the Wind Challenger wind-assisted propulsion system on a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, the first of its kind. Currently under construction at Hanwha Ocean's Geoje Shipyard, the vessel will be delivered in 2026 and aims to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions using telescopic sails, reflecting both companies' commitment to sustainability.
