Eastern Pacific Shipping adopts wind-powered eSAIL technology for a new tanker to cut emissions.

Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has contracted three large eSAIL suction sails for a new MR Tanker being built in China. This Wind Assisted Propulsion System (WAPS) aims to reduce fuel use and emissions, aligning with EPS's decarbonization efforts that include dual-fuel vessels, biofuels, and voyage optimization. The eSAIL technology, suitable for various vessel types, is set to be installed in late 2025.
