Maersk Supply Service and Edison Chouest Offshore partner for a US offshore feeder concept to increase efficiency in next-gen wind installation vessels.

Maersk Supply Service and Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) have partnered to develop a US offshore feeder concept for Maersk's next-gen wind installation vessel. The newbuild feeder spread, consisting of two tugs and two barges, will transport wind turbine components to the installation site, enabling faster installation and reducing dependence on weather conditions. The partnership aims to make offshore wind farm installations significantly faster, with an estimated 30% efficiency increase, and open access to more U.S. ports. The purpose-built feeder spread is set to be delivered in 2026.
