83-year-old Dr. Ram Narain Agarwal, project director of India's Agni missile program, passed away.

Renowned Indian missile scientist Dr. Ram Narain Agarwal, who played a crucial role in developing India's long-range missile, Agni, passed away at the age of 83. As the project director of the Agni missile program since 1983, he led the development of multiple Agni missile versions that were adopted by India's defense forces, including the current Agni V with a range exceeding 5,000 kilometers. Dr. Agarwal retired as the founder and director of the Advanced Systems Laboratory in Hyderabad in 2005 and received numerous accolades for his work, including the Padma Shri in 1990 and the Padma Bhushan in 2000.
