18-year-old European bottlenose dolphin, Naya, who couldn't conceive in Europe for 11 years, gave birth to a healthy female calf at the Hainan Ocean Paradise Resort in China. This marks the first successful European Endangered Species Program (EEP) birth in China, with the resort participating in the EEP animal exchange program and being the only Chinese member of both the EEP and the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
