Stranded short-finned pilot whale Haitang returns to habitat in Sanya, Hainan, after release on May 26.

Marine experts confirmed that a stranded short-finned pilot whale, named Haitang, returned to its normal habitat in Sanya, Hainan province, after being released back into the sea on May 26. The first follow-up survey activity was initiated on July 4 by the island province. Short-finned pilot whales, nationally protected second-class wild animals in China, are social deep-diving cetaceans.
