San Diego Zoo introduces Yun Chuan and Xin Bao, the first giant pandas in the U.S. in 21 years. The pair, aged nearly 5 and 4, arrived on June 27th and are acclimating well in their private habitat. They won't be visible to the public for several weeks while they adjust to their new environment. The zoo is working closely with Chinese experts to cater to the pandas' dietary needs and preferences, providing them with fresh bamboo and a local adaptation of wowotou, a traditional Chinese bun.
