Alberta-based ATCO Electric agrees to pay $3M fine, refund $4M for misleading Alberta utilities watchdog about project costs, 2013-2017.
ATCO Electric, an Alberta-based power company, has agreed to pay a $3M fine and refund $4M for misleading the province's utilities watchdog about its costs in two separate projects between 2013 and 2017. The company admitted to contravening the Electric Utilities Act by reporting costs three years before incurring them and inflating the cost of accommodation at a construction site. The Alberta Utilities Commission must now decide whether the settlement is in the public interest.
