29 June 2024: Lanzhou-Wuwei high-speed railway line opens in Gansu, reducing travel time by 50 minutes.

A high-speed railway line from Lanzhou, Gansu's provincial capital, to Wuwei, central Gansu, opened on 29 June 2024, improving Northwest China's high-speed rail network. The line serves six stations and has a maximum operating speed of 250 km/h. The travel time between Wuwei East and Lanzhou West stations is now 1 hour and 56 minutes, cutting the previous travel time by nearly an hour.
