38-year-old Waterville man, Joshua Steele, was rescued after breaking his ankle during a hike in Gulf Hagas, ME. Steele slipped on a rock on the Rim Trail near Jaws Waterfall, and a friend requested help from the North Maine Woods gatehouse. The Maine Warden Service, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Greenville Fire Department responded, locating Steele and stabilizing his ankle before transporting him out via litter and ATV to an ambulance at 4:30am.
