Stair climbing reduces premature death risk by 24% and heart disease mortality by 39%: European Society of Cardiology study.

New research from the European Society of Cardiology's Preventive Cardiology conference suggests that regularly taking the stairs instead of using the lift can reduce the risk of premature death by 24% and lower the likelihood of dying from heart disease by 39%. The study, involving data from nine studies and over 480,000 people, found that short bursts of physical activity, such as stair climbing, have beneficial health impacts and should be incorporated into daily routines.
