20 May 9 rioters pardoned by Pakistan's Army chief, General Asim Munir, and released prior to Eid.

20 people sentenced for May 9 riots in Pakistan, after Imran Khan's arrest, have been released by the military authorities following a pardon by Army chief General Asim Munir. The decision was shared by the federal government with the Supreme Court, which has been hearing a set of intra-court appeals against its previous ruling nullifying the military trials of civilians. The convicts were released on April 6 and 7, ahead of Eid.
