Pakistan Supreme Court conditionalizes military court jurisdiction for May 9 riot civilian cases.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has conditionally allowed military courts to issue reserved judgments in cases involving civilians accused of involvement in the May 9 riots. A six-member bench, led by Justice Aminuddin Khan, heard the appeals. The court directed that verdicts should be announced only in cases where the accused might potentially be set free before Eid, following the invalidation of military trials for civilians implicated in the unrest.
