Canadian shoppers are fighting back against deceptive practices known as "drip pricing," where hidden fees and surcharges are added to the originally quoted price. Changes to the federal Competition Act now explicitly label such undisclosed fees as a harmful business practice. Consequently, multiple class-action lawsuits have been filed in British Columbia against online retailers, movie theatres, and other companies.
