South Korean scientists have grown beef cells in rice grains in an effort to create a sustainable, affordable and environmentally friendly source of protein. The "beef rice" is the first product of its kind, using grain particles as the base for cultivating animal muscle and fat cells. This could potentially replace farmed cattle for meat consumption.
