Malaysian scientists create sago starch-based rice substitute addressing food security concerns.

Malaysian scientists from Sarawak's CRAUN Research Sdn Bhd have developed a rice substitute made from sago starch, according to Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah. The breakthrough is expected to address food security concerns and diversify sago product range. The research has been underway for two years and is currently in the laboratory trial stage.
