Gunmen attacked a government-owned school in Kuriga town, kidnapping at least 287 students and staff. The abduction marks the second mass kidnapping in less than a week in Nigeria. Since 2014, abductions of students from schools in northern Nigeria have become a significant concern, with kidnappings concentrated in northwestern and central regions.
