UK energy regulator Ofgem fines Dorenell Windfarm Ltd £5.53m for breaching market rules; excessive prices charged to curb output pushed up costs for consumers, Ofgem says. The fine follows a Bloomberg investigation showing that dozens of British wind farms overestimated power production, adding millions to consumers' electricity bills. DWL, owned by Electricite de France SA, overstated generation forecasts by around 26% from 2018 through June 2023.
