Aberdeen University staff vote to strike over languages cuts.

Staff at the University of Aberdeen, supported by the University and College Union (UCU), voted in favour of strike action over proposed cuts to modern languages degrees. The changes could lead to 30 staff members facing redundancy. The university is currently considering alternative measures to avoid redundancies and is engaging in ongoing dialogue with union representatives to minimize the impact on students. The 80% majority vote with a 60% turnout revealed a significant degree of opposition to the potential job cuts and reduction of language offerings.
