College lecturers in Scotland strike for 9 days over pay dispute, as employers offer £5,000 rise over 3 years but EIS-FELA demands more amid cost-of-living crisis.
College lecturers in Scotland are on strike for nine days in May and June over a pay dispute. The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS-FELA) submitted a revised four-year pay claim, but employers did not offer enough progress for the union to consider suspending strike action. College employers are offering a £5,000 consolidated pay rise over three academic years, starting from September 2022, but EIS-FELA claims it doesn't address the financial pain and stress experienced by the lecturing staff during the cost-of-living crisis.
