ScotRail to deploy 1,000+ body-worn cameras to combat anti-social behaviour on rail network, as part of a £1.6m project.

ScotRail is planning to triple the number of body-worn cameras for its frontline staff, in an effort to tackle anti-social behavior on its rail network. By the end of this month, the train operator will be rolling out more than 1,000 new body cameras, replacing the 350 currently in use. This initiative is part of a £1.6 million investment to address anti-social behavior on the railways. Since the introduction of body-worn cameras in 2017, they have proven to be invaluable in providing evidence for incidents, leading to successful prosecutions.
