Wayne LaPierre, the longtime CEO of the National Rifle Association (NRA), has announced his resignation, effective from January 31st. LaPierre has been with the organization since 1991. His resignation comes just days before a civil trial in New York, where he faces allegations of corruption. LaPierre cited health reasons for his departure. Andrew Arulanandam, the NRA's head of general operations, will become interim CEO.
