Coroner rules British SAS unjustly used lethal force against IRA members in 1992, debunking state claims.

Northern Ireland's coroner, Mr Justice Michael Humphreys, has ruled that the use of lethal force by British SAS soldiers against four IRA members in 1992 was unjustified. The soldiers fired over 570 rounds without making any attempt to arrest the IRA members, who were shot minutes after attacking a police station. The coroner also found that state agencies had spread false information about the incident, stating that the IRA members had not fired back as the soldiers had claimed.
