Nigerian state orders former Lobi Stars officials to refund over $6.5M due to audit findings.

The Benue State Government in Nigeria has ordered three former vice chairmen of Lobi Stars Football Club to refund over N2.4 billion to the club after a forensic audit revealed financial discrepancies from 2020 to 2024. The audit found that N3.76 billion was generated, but only N1.31 billion was accounted for. The report also recommended registering the club as a company and giving it financial independence from the Ministry of Sports.
