Kebbi State forms committee to recover N2.1bn fraudulently taken from orphans' accounts.

The Kebbi State Government in Nigeria has formed a committee to recover N2.1 billion (about $5 million) fraudulently taken from 1,849 orphans' accounts. This money, donated by the World Muslim League for their upbringing, was misappropriated by guardians using Point of Sale terminals. The committee, led by Commissioner Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Aliyu, is tasked with investigating the theft and warning involved banks of potential repercussions.
