After a young woman was seriously injured and hospitalized following a dog attack in Ōpōtiki, New Zealand, 22 dogs and puppies were removed from the property. Emergency services and the Ōpōtiki District Council responded, leading to the impounding and eventual euthanization of the dogs. The owner, who was fined for unregistered dogs and uncontrolled activity, was allowed to keep one registered dog that did not participate in the attack.
