Calgary officer charged with assault for allegedly using stun gun excessively on man.

Calgary police officer Constable Nickolas Kerton has been charged with assault with a weapon for an incident in January where he used a stun gun on a man twice. The officer, a two-year veteran, was responding to a call in the city's southwest and allegedly used excessive force. Kerton was suspended in February, and the investigation included reviewing body camera footage. He is set to appear in court in January.
