A 14-year-old sentenced to six years for a fatal crash that killed three women and injured another.

A 14-year-old boy from Bundaberg, who was 13 at the time of the incident, has been sentenced to six years' detention for causing a fatal car crash that killed three women and critically injured another. The youth was driving a stolen Mercedes-Benz at high speeds when the crash occurred. He pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a vehicle causing three deaths and grievous bodily harm, as well as other charges. The judge considered his troubled background and cognitive impairments due to a traumatic brain injury. He will be released after serving 60% of the sentence, which is expected to be about two more years, having already spent 583 days in custody.
